The essay shall contain 4 characters. It will present a story which shows the crossover of wealth and poverty within our society, and how they subconsciously rely on each other to carry out their day to day life. In the final concluding image, all 4 characters will be featured staring up at the typographic cross of the words wealth and poverty, representing the fact that we are all humans and all have a connection to one another and that there's hope and posterity for each and everyone of us.
Whilst thinking about this idea for my photo essay the film Crash came to mind, as its narrative is very much based around characters from all kinds of social and racial backgrounds, rich and poor, that in the end all have a connection to one another. The ending to the film is a very eye opening viewing experience, as it draws on the fact that we should all respect each other and diminish our perceptions and actions regarding racism, sexism and prejudice.
