During this week i have exposed myself to many new works by artists, photographers, designers and organizations. I feel i like had the opportunity to be really adventurous with my research, as i have visited several exhibitions, including the National Portrait Gallery, Photographers Gallery, Design Museum, Hayward Gallery and the BFI. All of which contained very different disciplines yet all educated and inspired me on different levels. Regarding the subject proposed by the brief I have spent the week discussing the matter with many different people of different ages and from different cultures, in order to gain an understanding of the varied perceptions of wealth and poverty depending on cultural backgrounds. In the following weeks i will need to translate what was discussed into possible ideas for my photo essay.
During this week i have also highlighted my main aims for this brief and how i will use my time with an in depth time plan. Overall this week has been an incredible learning curve as i have introduced myself to new photographers that will help inspire my ideas and understanding of what is required of a photographic essay and how to portray a narrative through the use of photography.
